Salt Shaker Snowman - Snowman Winter Wonderland Antique Upcycle Snowman

This sweet little snowman is made from an upcycle saltshaker. I started by filling the saltshaker with sparkly “snow” glitter and topping the bottle with a polymer clay head and “carrot” nose. I fashioned her twig arms out of wire - hand twisted out of three smaller gauged wires, the little inconsistencies in this process mimics the texture of a twig. Now for the scarf, I wrapped a fluffy teal yarn around her neck. On top of her head rests her saltshaker cap for her hat and in her twiggy arm, she cradles her teddy bear.

This salt shaker has been given a new life as a snowman and a new home in your own winter wonderland. Each snowman is uniquely handmade with a combination of little upcycled parts. I love antiquing and discovering fun little trinkets that I can repurpose. As I am making each each snowman I filter through my boxes of bits and pieces to find the perfect mix to make each special snowman. As I sift through all of my findings, my design might be inspired by a sparkly antique broach or an old skeleton key. The salt shakers are just as unique as the components that make the snowman. I hunt for the perfect salt shakers - a unique shape or sparkly crystal one or tarnished silver ones - these characteristics help to add extra personality to the figurines.
